RSA Online Complete Guide

Because I’ve done it before, I’d like to share my thoughts on getting an RSA certificate. When deciding whether to obtain a certificate in person or online, it is a no-brainer to choose the latter. Because it is much less expensive and you won’t have to deal with the hassle of going to class.

However, some people prefer face-to-face communication because they want to meet new people; it is entirely up to you. Many people believe that most online courses are pretty much the same – you spend about 2 to 4 hours to complete them, so the price is the most important factor to consider when deciding which course to take.

This, however, is not the case. A good online course will be simple to follow, provide a wealth of additional information to aid you, and be as real as possible in their training, ensuring that you are fully prepared to work in a licensed establishment.

Some people prefer a more attractive website, but this is a personal choice. Apart from price, the most important thing to look for in an online course provider is that they are an RTO (Registered Training Organization) and that the course is accredited. Before enrolling in a course, contact the course provider if you have any questions.

Some people are apprehensive about taking an exam. Please believe me when I say that passing the RSA certificate online exam is not difficult. You can practice with the free RSA test questions to gain confidence.

How much I earn after I get a RSA certificate?

Each job is unique, and each person is unique. My first-year wage started at $24 per hour in my case. I’ve been in my current position for three years. My hourly wage is $26. It’s not a lot of money, but if you work a shift once a week, it can help pay the bills.

What to do if I lost my RSA Certificate?

I received numerous emails from visitors to our website requesting that I reissue their RSA certificate. Rather than repeating myself, I have provided the answer here. We are not an RSA training centre and do not issue RSA certificates.

I strongly advise you to contact your course provider to have your certificate reissued. Most RSA course providers in Australia are listed on our website, and their contact information can be found on the relevant provider’s review page.

Your certificate will normally expire in three years (subject to state regulations). It’s pointless to ask your provider to reissue your certificate if you already know it’s expired. Also, I believe that taking a photo of your certificate as soon as you receive it is a good idea so that you know who your provider is and can contact them later if you lose your certificate.

Can I do the RSA Online course?

This is another frequently asked question by visitors to our website. My quick response is that if your state accepts online RSA, it’s a no-brainer to use it. However, as far as I am aware, not every state in Australia accepts online RSA courses; for example, the Victorian government only accepts face-to-face or classroom RSA courses.

They also offer a free RSA refresher course if you previously obtained your certificate through a classroom course, including other states’ courses. So, read your state’s regulations, and if something is unclear, read it again or send them an email.

Do still need the certificate if I have working experience at the bar at my home country

Yes! The Responsible Service of Alcohol course will familiarise you with the laws governing the serving of alcohol in Australia. It will surprise you how different it is from your home country.

Technically, you are qualified for your job due to your previous experience, but if you are unfamiliar with Australian law, you may find yourself in hot water if you serve alcohol in Australia. If you don’t have a certificate for responsible alcohol service, you won’t be able to get a job serving alcohol.
